The First Step to Launch Your Blog or Website

I starting building web sites as a teenager, and I used to do it as a freelancer. I called it 3am Creations because I would stay up all night designing and building sites. Since having a family and doing full-time ministry, I haven’t done website development because it’s too time consuming. However, I have always continued to build the web sites for the ministries I have been involved in, because it’s cheaper to do it myself. So I have tried to find the easiest and cheapest way to have these web sites.

What Works Best

For some years now I have found Bluehost to be the most reliable and cost-effective way to host your own web site and/or blog. An account with one site starts at $3.95/month and an account with multiple (unlimited) sites starts at $5.95/month.

Bluehost is particularly great if you use WordPress to design and develop your site/blog. I used to host a free blog at wordpress.com, and I got used to using the simple but powerful WordPress platform. You simply pick a WordPress theme, plug in your photos/info, and you have a site! If you are not familiar with WordPress, you can set up a free trial site at wordpress.com to get used to using it.

If you want to build your own website with WordPress, you can signup with Bluehost, and they will install wordpress on your own site for free. Here is the link to sign up or learn more about Bluehost.

I want to be transparent and say that I am an affiliate partner with Bluehost. If anyone who signs up through the links on this blog I will get a credit. This would obviously be a huge blessing to my family and ministry. But I do sincerely use Bluehost and think it is the best option. I would never refer a product or service that I don’t personally use and truly value.

I want to make sure anyone who wants to DIY a site or blog can easily get good info. It can be confusing! So I encourage you to consider Bluehost for web site hosting. And if you decide to sign up, could you click through this link so I get a referral credit? 🙂

What are your questions?

I will be posting a lot more helpful blog on web site development to help you handle graphics, domain registration, hosting, WordPress and more! But I wanted to ask you…what are you questions that I can try to answer in future posts related to setting up a web site? Feel free to leave a comment.
